CMT Central

With the forum getting busier, I am now considering recruiting some members to join Jackie on the Support Team.

This is by no means an urgent situation and I can quite happily continue as we are if the right person isn't found. Similarly, I don't have a set number of "vacancies" in mind either, this depends on who comes forward.

The job role is laid out below, some parts may seem quite formal but do not worry, this is purely only for the purpose of being clear in what would be expected of you.

If you are interested in doing this then send me a PM briefly detailing Why you want to be an STM and what you could offer the forum and how you would fulfil the role. This doesn't have to be formal, I don't bite .

Experience is not required! Anything you need to know can be easily taught.

JOB ROLE

Support Team Moderator (STM)

ELIGIBILITY

We welcome applications from regular/active members on the forum. Applicants should either have CMT/HNPP or have experience / knowledge of CMT/HNPP. Applicants should already demonstrate much of the supportiveness expected of an STM.

DESCRIPTION / DUTIES

Members of the forum Support Team monitor and ensure the rules of the forum are maintained by all users who participate.

One of the main roles of a Support Team Moderator (STM) should be to promote interaction. A STM should be posting new threads and adding new content to the site. They should be helping out members with their queries and they should be keeping threads alive by asking questions and encouraging conversation.

Another of the main roles of an STM should be to be on hand to answer any forum queries as well as offer CMT / HNPP related support to members on the forum by using any knowledge you have to answer threads in the CMT Related sections.

An STM should be an active, regular poster on the forum and should be available at least 3-4 days a week. This is of course flexible and you are not expected to sat at your computer all day. Popping in and out regularly each week is sufficient. The only thing I ask on this matter is that you let me know if you are going to be away from the forum for a period of time.

In addition, they have moderator duties include moving, editing and deleting posts, creating sticky posts and locking topics. They can also issue warnings to and ban members.

ACCESS RIGHTS

Support Team Moderators are able to:

*** Edit and Delete Posts
*** Move, Split, Merge, Lock and Delete Topics
*** Issue Warnings to members and Manage Bans
*** Post "Sticky / Announcements"
*** Manage Ranks

Note: Certain actions should only be carried out after discussion with Admin (i.e. Me!). These are issuing of Warnings to Members and the Banning of Members. The other actions can be carried out with the full permission and support of Admin (Me!)

Would love to help you Sam, but I'm afraid I am too thick with computers.

I am a mod on another site Sam, so don't feel I could take on another.
I can encourage people though, it is an interesting and enjoyable role & not too taxing, you just need common sense & time to visit the site through out the day.

I'd volunteer as I mod on another site and am infront of the computer at all hours, but don't think I could as I know little about CMT and am so new.

I guess you dont need to know much about cmt, but just be supportive in other ways.

Well I don't know if your still 'hiring' but I'll apply :) Is there any form I have to fill in?

So what exactly can you offer as support to folks with CMT?.

I thought one would have to have CMT or HNPP if they joined the support team. After all this is who this forum is for.
